I googled and found someone on another forum that advised using the red high temperature silicone on the gasket surfaces (this was on an 89). The gasket I have does not have silicone impregnated on it and I am worried about water crossing over to the exhaust. The surfaces on the block and the exhaust manifold are pretty flat but I want to be sure. Should I use sealant and if so which one? Thanks, Kevin
