havent been able to take to the water yet but seems to run alright on the trailer after priming the carb with a shot of fuel. after i turn it off it doesnt seem to want to restart, almost like it is loosing prime. any thoughts on what is causing this or what to try to solve problem??? all help is greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the carb needs rebuilding, the carb is your fuel pump, or if you have the two part carb, its the one on the side of the hull.
